UTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification for UTET-I (Primary Level, Classes I-V)
A candidate must meet one of the following:
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC), passed or currently in training/enrolled.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks AND a 2-year D.El.Ed/BTC obtained as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002, passed or currently in training/enrolled.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), passed or currently in training/enrolled.
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), passed or currently in training/enrolled.

Common Eligibility Notes (Both Levels)
- Candidates currently undergoing a 1-year degree training course, or enrolled/admitted in a 2-year degree/diploma training course or a 4-year degree training course, are also eligible to apply for UTET 2026.
- All educational degrees must be from a university established by law in India or a recognized board; training/teaching degrees must be from NCTE-recognized institutions (obtained or being pursued).
- A 5% relaxation in graduation-level marks is given to candidates from reserved categories – Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, and differently-abled (Divyang) candidates.
- Candidates admitted to a 2-year degree/diploma training course or a 4-year degree training course, or currently pursuing/enrolled in one, will be given provisional admission to the exam. Their UTET certificate is valid only once they pass that qualifying course.

UTET 2026 Exam Centres
The written exam will be held at 29 cities across the state’s 13 districts. Candidates must give two city preferences in order of priority in the online application; once a centre is allotted, no request for change is entertained. If fewer than 100 candidates opt for a particular exam city, that city will not be made an exam centre, and such candidates will be allotted their second-preference city or the nearest possible city instead. No travelling allowance is payable to candidates for appearing in the exam.

Documents Required on Exam Day
- Downloaded admit card (compulsory – no candidate will be allowed into the exam without it; sent only via the Board’s website, not by post)

Calculators, log tables, mobile phones, pagers, digital watches, and any other electronic gadgets, as well as printed or handwritten material and loose paper, are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. How to Apply for UTET 2026 Online
- Visit the official website www.ukutet.com and download the Information Brochure to review all instructions and eligibility codes before applying.
- Click “New Applicant? (Click here)” to register. Read the terms and conditions, tick the acceptance box, and click “Proceed to Registration.”
- Enter your name, father’s name, mobile number, and email ID to complete registration. Only one application is accepted per mobile number and email ID.
- Verify the OTP sent to your mobile/email. On successful verification, a Registration Number and password will be sent to your email/mobile.
- Log in using the Registration Number and password, then click “Apply for UTET 2026.”
- Fill in the Application Form (Step 1) with all mandatory details – exam level (UTET-I, UTET-II, or Both), gender, date of birth, mother’s/husband’s name, home district, category, sub-category, disability status (if any), scribe requirement (if any), first and second language choices, subject choice (for UTET-II), training eligibility and code, exam city preferences, correspondence address, and identity proof details.
- Upload photo, signature, and left-hand thumb impression (Step 2) as per the specified file size and pixel dimensions given in the brochure.
- Preview your application (Step 3), verify every field carefully, accept the declaration, and lock the form. No changes are possible after this step.
- Pay the application fee (Step 4) through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
- Print your completed application (Step 5) and keep the printout, along with the fee payment receipt, safely for future reference.
Only online applications are accepted; applications submitted through any other mode will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to apply well before the last date rather than waiting until the deadline.
UTET 2026: Facility for Scribe (Divyang/PWD Candidates)
- Candidates with Blindness, Locomotor Disability, or Cerebral Palsy, and other candidates whose reading/writing ability is affected in special circumstances, may be permitted to use a scribe.
- The scribe must be arranged by the candidate. The scribe’s highest educational qualification must be at least 2 academic years lower and not more than 3 academic years lower than the mandatory qualification for the exam – broadly, no lower than Intermediate level and no higher than first-year graduation level.
- Eligible candidates get 20 minutes of compensatory time per hour of examination. This extra time also applies to blind/low-vision and other differently-abled candidates whose writing speed is permanently affected, whether or not they use a scribe.
- Required documents (Appendix 5(I), 5(II), and Appendix 6 formats, the scribe’s highest qualification certificate, and two passport photos of the scribe) must be submitted to the Board office at least 15 days before the exam date.
- Differently-abled candidates will be seated in a ground-floor examination room at the exam centre.
UTET 2026: Answer Key, Result and Re-evaluation
- After the exam, the Board publishes a Provisional Answer Key on its website. Objections to the provisional key can be submitted only via email to secyutet@gmail.com, in the prescribed format, within the specified window, with one objection submitted separately per question.
- Objections without proof, or submitted after the deadline, or combining multiple questions into a single representation, will not be considered.
- After expert review, a Final Answer Key is prepared and published; evaluation is based solely on this final key. No further claims/objections against the final key are entertained.
- OMR answer sheets are evaluated by machine scanning, so no provision exists for re-checking or re-counting of OMR sheets; no application for re-evaluation/re-counting will be accepted.
