The High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur has released Advertisement No. 61/SCPA/Exam/2026 dated 17 July 2026, inviting applications for Direct Recruitment through Suitability Test for 130 posts of Senior Computer Programmer Assistant in District Courts of the State of Madhya Pradesh. This recruitment is conducted as a one-time measure under Rule 1(3) of the Madhya Pradesh District Court Technical Manpower (Appointment & Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019, and is open only to employees/officials of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh and District Courts (regular or outsourced) currently working in the IT domain. Age Limit
As per the Madhya Pradesh Gazette notification dated 20.02.2026 (Bhopal order dated 17.02.2026, order number E-430953-2026-21-B(one)), the maximum age limit for candidates is 5 years more than the limit prescribed by the Madhya Pradesh General Administration Department Circular dated 4th July 2019.

The age limit is reckoned from 1st January of the year in which the recruitment process has been initiated, i.e., as on 01.01.2026. The notification does not specify a minimum age.
Eligibility and Educational Qualification
As per Schedule-I of the “Rules 2019,” candidates must fulfil the following criteria for the post of Senior Computer Programmer Assistant:
- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc in Computer Science/IT/Electronics and Telecommunications, or B.C.A./M.C.A., or M.Sc. (Electronics/CS/IT), with at least 1 year of experience working on Linux/Open Source Software/Windows/DBMS/Software Development.
- Work experience of not less than 2 years in a District Court Establishment or the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
- The candidate must not have been punished in any departmental enquiry, or ever punished for misconduct or any other reason.
Only persons having work experience of not less than 2 years in a District Court Establishment or High Court in the State of Madhya Pradesh are eligible to appear in the suitability test, subject to meeting the above essential qualifications. As per the Gazette notification dated 20.02.2026, all employees/officials of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh and District Courts in the state, irrespective of their designation or name of post, working in the IT domain – either as a regular employee or through outsourcing – can participate, as a one-time measure, in this recruitment process, subject to fulfilling the required qualifications and other conditions under the Rules 2019.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Candidates who are not currently employed in any District Court Establishment of Madhya Pradesh or the High Court of Madhya Pradesh must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority/employer at the time of filing the application form. Without this, the candidate will not be allowed to participate in the examination.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Preliminary Screening Examination (MCQ)
- Practical Examination
- Interview
- Past Performance Appraisal
The final merit list for selection is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the Practical Examination, Interview, and Past Performance Appraisal, subject to securing the prescribed minimum marks. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Screening Examination are used only to shortlist candidates and are not counted in the final merit.
I. Preliminary Screening Examination
The question paper contains 100 multiple choice objective-type questions of 1 mark each, to be solved within 2 hours (120 minutes) on an OMR sheet, in English.

Candidates who secure a place in the merit list in each category, in the ratio of 1:3 against each post, shall be declared successful for the Practical Examination and Interview, including candidates securing equal marks to the last successful candidate in each category.
II. Practical Examination
The Practical Examination may be held at the premises of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur. Syllabus is the same as prescribed for the Preliminary Screening Examination. Maximum marks: 25. Date and time will be notified later on the official website.
III. Interview
The Interview carries a maximum of 15 marks and may be conducted at the premises of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur. Candidates must carry their required original documents at the time of interview for verification.
IV. Past Performance Appraisal
Past Performance Appraisal carries a maximum of 10 marks, based on the candidate’s last 2 years’ appraisal reports (ACRs). Candidates who have discontinued their job but have the required work experience are also eligible.

Final Result
Final result along with a waiting list is prepared based on aggregate marks in Practical Examination, Interview, and Past Performance Appraisal. Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate to be declared successful. In case two or more candidates score equal marks, the candidate older in age is placed higher in the merit list. The waiting list is valid for one year or until the next recruitment advertisement is published, whichever is earlier.

How to Apply
Applications must be submitted offline. The application form is not filled online.
- Download the Application Form from the official website of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh (www.mphc.gov.in), along with the advertisement.
- Take a printout and fill it in Block Letters, in English only. All fields are mandatory; write N/A where not applicable.
- Sign the form and attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents/testimonials along with recent coloured photographs, serial-wise as per the checklist in the form.

Other Important Instructions
- Application forms found incomplete or not accompanied by the requisite documents will be summarily rejected without assigning any reason.
- After scrutiny, a list of eligible and ineligible candidates will be published on the High Court website.
- Permission to appear in the exam is provisional. If a candidate is found not to fulfil eligibility conditions, or certificates are found fake or fabricated, at any stage, the candidature will be rejected.
- No travelling expenses or allowances are payable for appearing in the Preliminary Screening Examination, Practical Examination, or Interview.
- There is no provision for rechecking of marks or revaluation of answer sheets at any stage, and re-examination is not permissible.
- Mobile phones, pagers, and other electronic/communication devices or calculators are prohibited inside the examination premises.
- Using unfair means, impersonation, submitting forged documents, or concealing material information can lead to prosecution and/or debarment, permanently or for a specified period, in addition to cancellation of candidature. Punishment under the Madhya Pradesh Recognized Examination Act, 1937 extends up to 3 years of imprisonment.
- Any corrigendum or clarification will be posted only on the official website of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; this will be deemed sufficient notice to all candidates.
- Marks for all stages will be shown in a Score-card available on the official website; candidates will need to enter their credentials to view it.
- Records of the examination, including application forms, may be eliminated 6 months after declaration of the final result, unless a court case is pending.
