Selected candidates appointed as Specialist Officers (Engineer) in JMG Scale I at Punjab National Bank will be entitled to pay and allowances as per the Bank’s rules applicable to JMG Scale I officers. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, Retirement Benefits, and other perquisites as per Bank rules.

PNB Specialist Officer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process for PNB Specialist Officer Recruitment 2026 will be based on an Online Written Test followed by a Personal Interview, or a Personal Interview only, depending upon the number of applications received against each post. The Bank may decide to follow either of two scenarios. Under Scenario 1 (Online Written Test + Interview):

The written test consists of Part I covering Reasoning (25 marks), English Language (25 marks), and Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks) – totalling 100 marks – and Part II covering Professional Knowledge (50 questions, 100 marks), with the entire test to be completed in 120 minutes.

For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned will be deducted as penalty. Part II (Professional Knowledge) will be evaluated only for candidates who qualify in each paper of Part I. Candidates who qualify Part I will be shortlisted for interview based on marks in Part II. Personal Interview will carry 50 marks, and candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in the interview to be considered for final selection.

The final merit will be based on aggregate scores of Part II of the Online Written Test and the Interview. Under Scenario 2 (Shortlisting + Interview): Applications will be screened, eligible candidates will be called for a Personal Interview of 50 marks, and final selection will be based solely on interview scores.
