Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions strictly as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) Notification dated 18th July 2018 and subsequent amendments. The educational qualification must be from a recognized University. Maximum age limit is 60 years as on the last date of application.
Essential Qualification for Assistant Professor (Pay Level-10 as per 7th CPC)
- A Master’s Degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from foreign University
- For SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates, the requirement at master level is 50% marks
- Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET
- OR Candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments are exempted from NET/SLET/SET

- A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines
