A total of 129 training seats have been announced for Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators across 35 departments of AIIMS Guwahati. The vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. 4% of total vacancies are horizontally reserved for PwBD candidates. In case suitable EWS candidates are not found, UR candidates may be allowed to fill EWS posts provisionally. Candidates may apply for more than one department by filling separate application forms with separate fees for each post.

Abbreviations: UR – Unreserved, OBC – Other Backward Classes, SC – Scheduled Caste, ST – Scheduled Tribes, EWS – Economically Weaker Section. 4% of total vacancies horizontally reserved for PwBD. Reservation as per Government of India policy.

All the posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees of similar status at Guwahati, Assam. Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of online applications (15-06-2026). The prescribed qualification is minimum and merely possessing it does not entitle any candidate for selection. Private practice of any kind is prohibited; the post is whole-time.

AIIMS Guwahati Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit

Upper age limit is not exceeding 45 (Forty-five) years as on the closing date of online applications. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for reserved category candidates.

Candidates are required to pay the prescribed application fee online through the link provided on the website while filling the Online Application. Eligible candidates are required to fill up the Online Application along with relevant documents on the official AIIMS Guwahati website. The entire application process is online. Candidates should ensure they meet all eligibility criteria as on the closing date of online applications before applying. The candidature of applicants who fail to complete the online application by the stipulated date and time will not be considered.

Important Instructions for AIIMS Guwahati Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 Candidates

• The post of Senior Resident is a tenure post for a period of 03 (three) years only as per the Central Residency Scheme. All terms and conditions of the Scheme will be applicable.
• The post is whole-time; private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited.
• Candidates are likely to be posted at rural health and urban centres attached with the Institute for a period decided by the Institute.
• All eligible applicants irrespective of their category may be considered for seats advertised under a reservation category only in the absence of applicants in that reserve category, for not exceeding 44 days (extendable by competent authority).
• Qualification, experience, age and other eligibility conditions will be considered as on the date of publication of this notification on the Institute website.
• Canvassing of any kind will be a disqualification. The candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
• In case any information or declaration by the candidate is found to be false or if material information has been wilfully suppressed, the candidate will be liable to be removed from service and legal action will be initiated.
• AIIMS Guwahati reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies. The Competent Authority reserves the right of amendment, cancellation, and changes to the advertisement without assigning any reason.
• Residential accommodation will be provided subject to availability. If accommodation cannot be provided, HRA as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status will be paid.
• The decision of the Competent Authority of AIIMS, Guwahati in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, and allotment of posts will be final and binding. No representation or correspondence will be entertained.
