Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the last date of application. Only Indian citizens are eligible. Candidates must mandatorily possess the Kannada language proficiency as specified. Eligibility details are as follows:

Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Selection will be through the following stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed to the next. No marks are awarded for Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test – these are qualifying in nature only.

  • Stage 1 – Written Examination (Offline-OMR type): Objective type written test of 100 questions / 100 marks / 1½ hours (90 minutes). Conducted at district exam centres across the state. Candidates must mandatorily download the admit card from the authority website and carry one original identity proof to the exam centre.

Medical Examination Standards (key disqualification criteria):

  • Vision: Distant vision: 6/9 or 6/9 (best eye) and 6/12 (other eye) without glasses; Near vision: 0/6 and 0/8. Each eye must have full field of vision. Any condition such as squint, colour blindness, or any pathological condition of the eye is disqualifying.
  • Hearing: Rinne’s Test, Weber’s Test, and Tests for Vertigo – any deficiency is disqualifying.
  • Varicose Veins with flatfoot: Disqualifying
  • Speech impediment: Disqualifying
  • Musculoskeletal Deformities (disqualifying): Knock Knees, Flat Foot, Bow Legs, Cubitus Valgus, Cubitus Varus, or any other defect observed during examination
