These cover departments including Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Health & Family Welfare,  Education, Labour, Skill Development & Employment, Municipal Corporations, and the Legislative Secretariat. Notably, Advt. No. 41/2026-27 is a Special Recruitment Drive for Divyang (PwD) candidates only. Eligibility Criteria & Job Requirements

Municipal Corporation Posts – Advt. 35, 36, 37 & 38 (Estate Officer, ICT Officer, Legal Officer, Administrative Officer, Class-II)

  • Core Education: Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University/Institution in India established under the Central or State Act, or recognized by UGC under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
  • Note: Candidates selected for these posts will be employees of the respective Municipal Corporation, not the Government of Gujarat.

Advt. 33 – Senior Drug Inspector, Class-II

  • Core Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or Pharm D from a recognized University.
  • Experience (Option A): About 5 years’ experience in enforcement of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 under the FDCA, Gujarat State.
  • Experience (Option B): About 5 years’ combined/separate experience in manufacturing or testing of drug substances in Production / QC / R&D of a Pharmaceutical establishment, or in Pharmaceutical Technology, or in a government laboratory.
  • Computer Knowledge & Language: Basic computer knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi.

Advt. 39 – Industrial Safety and Health Officer, Class-II

  • Core Education: At least a Second Class Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Computer Knowledge & Language: Basic computer knowledge and adequate knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi.

Advt. 40 – Assistant Director, Boilers, Class-II

  • Physical Fitness: Good physique – not more than 180 cm in height and not more than 105 cm in girth; must be able to enter and manoeuvre inside the manhole of a boiler comfortably.
  • Core Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical / Production / Power Plant / Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University; AND a Certificate of Proficiency as a Boiler Operation Engineer granted under Boiler Operation Rules, 2021 (or equivalent rules under the Boilers Act, 1923).
  • Experience: About 2 years’ combined/separate experience as a technical person in design, construction, erection, operation, testing, repair, maintenance, or inspection of boilers.

Advt. 41 – District Education Officer, Class-I (Special PwD Drive)

  • Core Education: Bachelor’s degree (First Class) OR Bachelor’s degree (Second Class) + Master’s degree (Second Class) in Arts / Science / Commerce / Law / Agriculture from a recognized University; AND a Teaching/Education Degree or Diploma in Education.
  • Experience: At least 7 years’ experience in teaching, inspection, or administration.
  • Only Divyang (PwD) candidates are eligible to apply for this post. Group D & E disability candidates (SLD, MI, MD) with 1 reserved vacancy.

GPSC Selection Methodology

  1. Preliminary Test – Part-I (General Studies): 100 marks, 60 minutes – Common for all posts. Held at Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad at candidates’ own expense. Candidates scoring less than 15% in the Preliminary Test are not eligible for Interview.
  2. Preliminary Test – Part-II (Concerned Subject): 200 marks, 120 minutes – Subject-specific. Total Preliminary Test: 300 marks, 180 minutes.
  3. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score at least 15% in the Preliminary Test to qualify for the Interview stage.
  4. Interview: 100 marks – held at GPSC Bhavan, Gandhinagar. Candidates must attend at their own expense.
  5. Final Merit: 50% weightage to Preliminary Test (marks out of 300 converted to 50) + 50% weightage to Interview (marks out of 100 converted to 50) = Total out of 100.
  6. Interview Call Norms: 1 post → 10 candidates; 2 posts → 16; 3 posts → 18; 4 or more posts → 3x number of vacancies or 20, whichever is greater.
  7. Special PwD Provision (Advt. 39, 40, 41): If adequate representation of PwD candidates is not achieved group-wise, candidates who scored at least 10% in the Preliminary Test will be considered from the shortfall groups.
  8. Municipal Corporation Counselling (Advt. 38): After Interview, a provisional merit list is published. Candidates choose their preferred Municipal Corporation through a GPSC-conducted counselling process based on merit-cum-preference.

How to Apply for GPSC Recruitment 2026

  1. First complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the GPSC-OJAS portal at https://gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in if not already done. Note: OTR alone does not constitute an application.
  2. Visit https://gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in → Click “Online Application” → Click “Apply” → Select the relevant advertisement from the active list.
  3. Log in using your OTR Registration Number and Date of Birth, then click Apply Now.
  4. Fill in Personal Details, Communication Details, Other Details (sports, disability, widow, ex-serviceman status), Language Details, Educational Details, and Experience Details (if required).
  5. Upload your Passport-size Photo (5 cm × 3.6 cm, JPG, max 10 KB, white background, with date of photograph – not older than 1 year from application closing date) and Signature (2.5 cm × 7.5 cm, JPG, max 10 KB).
  6. Accept the Self-Declaration (Assurance) and click Save. Your Application Number and Confirmation Number will be generated – save both.
  7. Pay the applicable application fee via Post Office or Online before the fee deadline.
  8. Download and keep the printed copy of the confirmed application form. Applications can be edited using the Edit option until the closing date – do not submit multiple applications.
  9. After the Preliminary Test provisional result, shortlisted candidates must upload required certificates/documents online at https://gpsc-iass.gujarat.gov.in/ – physical documents sent by post/in-person will not be accepted.
  10. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications and separate fees for each post.

Q1. Can I apply for multiple posts?

Yes, but you must submit a separate online application and pay a separate fee for each post. Your OTR registration can be reused across all applications.

Q2. Who can apply for Advt. 41/2026-27 (District Education Officer)?

Only Divyang (Persons with Disabilities) candidates are eligible. This is a Special Recruitment Drive for PwD backlog vacancies. The 1 vacancy is reserved for Group D & E disability types (SLD, MI, MD involving Groups A to D).

Q3. What is the final merit basis for selection?

The final selection is based on 50% weightage each for the Preliminary Test (300 marks) and Interview (100 marks), resulting in a combined score out of 100.

Q4. Are all these 15 advertisements part of the same recruitment cycle?

Yes. All 15 advertisements were released in June 2026 and share the same application window (June 5 to June 19, 2026). The Preliminary Test Part-I (General Studies) is also scheduled on the same date (July 26, 2026) for most posts.

Q5. What happens if I submit more than one application for the same advertisement?

Only the last confirmed application will be considered. For unreserved (General) candidates, the last confirmed application with fee payment will be valid. Prior fees are not refunded or carried forward.

Q6. Is there a physical fitness requirement for any post?

Yes – the Assistant Director, Boilers (Advt. 40) requires candidates to have a good physique with maximum 180 cm height and 105 cm girth, and the ability to enter the manhole of a boiler. PwD candidates with BA/BL disabilities will be subject to a Medical Board opinion before appointment.

Q7. Will OTR registration count as an application?

No. OTR is only a helper module for faster application. Candidates must mandatorily submit a separate online application for each advertisement after completing OTR.
