Who Should NOT Apply

  • Candidates who have not passed 10th class (SSC/Matriculation) from a recognized board – this is the minimum educational qualification.
  • Candidates above 35 years of age as on 01-07-2026 (unless eligible for applicable age relaxation).

Common Mistakes / What to Check Before Applying

  • Not verifying your specific AWC vacancy number, Mandal name, and Roster Category in the official vacancy list before applying – applying to the wrong AWC or wrong project will lead to outright rejection.
  • Submitting an application for an AWC that is in a different village from your actual residence – even if it is a nearby village, residency at the specific AWC location is mandatory.
  • Missing the APOSS TC/study certificate at the time of walk-in submission – the CDPO will not provide a second chance to produce this document.
  • Affixing a photograph that is older than one month or different from the one pasted on the application – all photos must be identical and recent.
  • Not signing over the photograph on the application form – applications without signature over the photo are rejected.
  • Producing caste certificates issued by an authority other than the Tahsildar – certificates issued by Mandal Revenue Officers or Gram Panchayat presidents are not valid.
  • OBC (BC) candidates applying under OC/General category to appear to avoid reservation scrutiny – this leads to merit displacement and possible rejection on verification.
  • Submitting Xerox copies of documents without self-attestation – all copies must be self-attested by the candidate.
  • Candidates with disability not attaching the certificate from the Social Welfare Department – self-certification or hospital certificates are not acceptable.
  • Not checking the official website (https://srisathyasai.ap.gov.in/) for corrigendum or revision of vacancy details before submitting the application.

AP Anganwadi Offline Form 2026 – FAQs

Q1. Who can apply for Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 in Sri Satya Sai District?

Only women candidates who are permanent local residents of the specific village/ward where the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) vacancy exists can apply. Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years of age as on 01-07-2026 and must have passed 10th Class (SSC) from a recognized board. For AWW posts, candidates must also be married.

Q2. What is the last date to apply and where should I submit my application?

The last date for submitting the application is 18-06-2026 by 5:00 PM. Applications must be submitted in person (walk-in) at the concerned ICDS Project Office (Kadiri / Nallacheruvu / Dharmavaram / Battalapalli / C.K. Palli) based on which project division the AWC vacancy belongs to. No postal or online applications are accepted.

Q3. Is there any application fee for Anganwadi Recruitment 2026?

No. There is absolutely no application fee for any category of candidates. The application process is completely free of cost.

Q4. What is the salary/honorarium for Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper?

As per G.O.MS No. 13 WCD&SC (PROGS) dated 26/06/2019, the honorarium payable is Rs. 11,500/- per month for Anganwadi Workers (AWW) and Rs. 7,000/- per month for Anganwadi Helpers (AWH). Note that this is an honorarium, not a regular government salary, but it is paid consistently by the State Government.

Q5. How is the merit list prepared? Is there a written exam?

There is no written examination for Anganwadi posts. The merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the 10th Class (SSC) qualification. Candidates with relevant training certificates (Pre-School training, ICDS worker training, Creche & Pre-School Management Training) may receive additional weightage as per government rules. Final selection is based on roster category and merit within each category.

Q6. Can a woman from a neighbouring village apply for an AWC vacancy in a different village?

No. The candidate must be a permanent local resident of the specific village/ward where the AWC is located. Even if you live in a nearby village or the same panchayat, you are not eligible unless your permanent residence is in the exact village/ward of that AWC. This is strictly enforced.

Q7. Can unmarried women apply for Anganwadi Worker posts?

For Anganwadi Worker (AWW) and Mini Anganwadi Worker posts, candidates should preferably be married as per the notification requirements. The candidate’s permanent marital residence (husband’s place) should ideally be in the same village as the AWC. Unmarried candidates should check the specific AWC vacancy instructions before applying.

Q8. I belong to BC-B category. Can I apply for an OC (Open Category) AWC vacancy?

Yes. BC/SC/ST candidates who qualify on their own merit (without relaxed standards) can be accommodated against OC/Open Category vacancies as per the roster. However, you must check the specific Roster Category assigned to the AWC vacancy you are applying for (available in the vacancy list in the official notification). Each AWC vacancy has a specific roster category assigned and only candidates of that category can apply for that seat.
