GSSSB Female Health Worker Vacancy Details 2026

A total of 155 posts are available for Female Health Worker Class-3 under Gujarat’s Urban Health (UDHAV) programme. All 155 posts are reserved for female candidates only. The category-wise breakdown is as follows:

GSSSB Female Health Worker Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for this recruitment is defined by both educational qualification and age limit. Only female candidates holding a recognised nursing or health worker training certificate may apply. Candidates must also possess basic computer knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Rules.

Educational Qualification

• Passed Secondary (SSC) or Higher Secondary (HSC) examination from a recognised board, AND
• Completed the Female Health Workers Basic Training Course recognised by the Government, OR completed the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) Course recognised by the Government and registered with the Gujarat Nursing Council
• Basic knowledge of computer applications as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both

Computer Knowledge Note: Candidates who do not currently hold a computer certificate may still apply, but must submit a valid Basic Computer Knowledge certificate before receiving an appointment order. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of selection.

Age Limit (as on 29 June 2026)

Since all 155 posts are designated for female candidates only, the minimum age is 18 years and the upper age is calculated as on 29 June 2026. All reserved category benefits are available only to candidates originally domiciled in Gujarat.

Disability (Divyang) Eligibility

The following disability types are eligible for this post: Low Vision (LV, 40–70%), Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH), One Leg (OL), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Spinal Deformity (SD), Spinal Injury (SI), Intellectual Disability (ID), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI), and Multiple Disabilities. BA (Both Arms) and BL (Both Legs) types are subject to Medical Board opinion.

GSSSB Female Health Worker Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

The examination fee must be paid online only through the OJAS portal. Candidates who appear for the exam will receive a refund of the fee through the same payment mode used. Candidates who do not appear for the exam will not receive any refund.

GSSSB Female Health Worker Recruitment 2026 – Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will initially be appointed on a fixed pay basis for the first five years. After satisfactory completion of five years of service, they become eligible for regularisation in the 7th Pay Commission pay scale.

Regularisation after five years is subject to satisfactory performance and the outcome of SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012 pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Other admissible allowances will be as per relevant Government resolutions.

GSSSB Female Health Worker Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Selection will be through a single-stage competitive written examination. There is no interview stage. The exam is conducted in MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format using either CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) or OMR method.

1. Written Examination (MCQ/CBRT or OMR) – Single stage, 210 questions, 210 marks, 3 hours

5. Certificate Verification – ~2× of available posts shortlisted on merit

Minimum qualifying marks: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B – applicable for all categories. Negative marking of 1/4 mark applies for each wrong answer.

Bonus Marks

• Widow candidates: 5% bonus marks added to final MCQ/CBRT score (subject to not having remarried)
• Sports persons: 5% bonus marks for candidates who have represented at National/International, Inter-University, or All India School Federation level competitions in recognised sports

Exam Pattern

The competitive exam is divided into two parts in a single question paper. Part-A tests general aptitude and Part-B tests domain-specific nursing knowledge. The total duration is 3 hours (180 minutes).

Syllabus

The syllabus is divided into Part-A (general aptitude) and Part-B (nursing domain knowledge). Part-A questions will be in both Gujarati and English. Part-B questions will also be bilingual (Gujarati and English).

Part-A Syllabus (90 Marks)

1. Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks): Problems on Ages, Venn Diagrams, Visual Reasoning, Blood Relations, Arithmetic Reasoning, Data Interpretation (Charts, Graphs, Tables), Data Sufficiency.

2. Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks): Number Systems, Simplification & Algebra, AP & GP, Average, Percentage, Profit-Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, Time & Work, Time-Speed-Distance, Work-Wages & Chain Rule.

3. Constitution of India (10 marks): Preamble, Fundamental Rights, DPSP, Fundamental Duties, Powers of President/Vice President/Governor, Parliamentary System, Constitutional Amendments, Emergency Provisions, Centre-State Relations, Judicial System, Constitutional Bodies.

4. Current Affairs (10 marks): State, national and international events of importance.

5. Comprehension (10 marks): Gujarati comprehension (5 marks) + English comprehension (5 marks) – paragraph-based or statement/assertion type questions.

Important: Once the application is confirmed, no changes can be made by either the candidate or the Board. If a correction is needed, submit a fresh application before the last date and pay the fee again. If multiple applications are submitted, the last confirmed application with fee will be treated as valid.

Competition Level Analysis

With 155 posts spread across Gujarat’s municipal health sector and open to all eligible female candidates statewide, competition is expected to be high. The SEBC category has the highest allocation (80 posts), while the ST category accounts for 43 posts. General category candidates compete for only 17 posts. The single-stage exam structure with negative marking means accuracy matters as much as speed. The Part-B nursing domain section (120 marks) carries significantly more weight than Part-A (90 marks), making technical preparation the primary differentiator.

Who Should NOT Apply

• Male candidates – this recruitment is exclusively for female candidates
• Candidates who do not hold the Female Health Worker Basic Training Certificate or ANM Certificate registered with Gujarat Nursing Council
• Candidates above the applicable age limit as on 29 June 2026
• SEBC candidates who do not hold a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued between 01 April 2024 and 29 June 2026
• EWS candidates whose income/asset certificate was not issued between 30 June 2023 and 29 June 2026
• Candidates previously disqualified by GPSC, any recruitment board, or government/semi-government institution where the disqualification period is still active

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Wrong category selection: Category cannot be changed after confirmation – double-check SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/General before submitting
• Paying fee after deadline: The fee link closes automatically at 23:59 on 01 July 2026 – no late fee is accepted
• Not saving the Confirmation Number: All future communications and admit card downloads require the Confirmation Number, not the Application Number
• Uploading the wrong photo size: Photo must be 5 cm × 3.6 cm, white background, dated, and taken within one year of the last date
• SEBC candidates submitting spouse’s income certificate: Married female SEBC candidates must submit Non-Creamy Layer certificate based on parents’ income – not husband’s income
• Multiple applications with partial fees: Only the last confirmed application with a paid fee is valid – fees from earlier applications are not refunded or carried forward
• Skipping computer certificate: Candidates without a computer certificate can still apply, but must arrange one before appointment – not doing so leads to selection cancellation
