Broad Speciality
A Postgraduate qualification of MD/MS/DNB/MDS in the concerned subject from an institute under any Indian University recognised by the National Medical Commission (previously MCI)/National Board of Education (NBE)/Dental Council of India is required for the following departments: Anaesthesiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, FSM, Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, O&G, Pharmacology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, PM&R, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, SPM (Community Medicine), TB & Chest (Pulmonary Medicine), and Nuclear Medicine.
- Anatomy Department: Postgraduate qualification MS (Anatomy)/M.Sc (Medical Anatomy) with Ph.D in Medical Anatomy, as per the latest notification of NMC, New Delhi.
- Biochemistry Department: Postgraduate qualification MD (Biochemistry)/M.Sc (Medical Biochemistry) with Ph.D in Medical Biochemistry, as per the latest notification of NMC, New Delhi.
- Physiology Department: Postgraduate qualification MD (Physiology)/M.Sc (Medical Physiology) with Ph.D in Medical Physiology, as per the latest notification of NMC, New Delhi.
Super Specialty
- A Postgraduate qualification MD/DNB in General Medicine is required for Medical Super Specialty departments – Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology.
- A Postgraduate qualification MS/DNB in General Surgery is required for Surgical Super Specialty departments – Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Paediatric Surgery.
- Candidates holding DM/M.Ch/DNB in the concerned super specialty subject will be given preference/weightage.
Weightage
Weightage will be given to doctors working under Rule 17A of MHRB Regulations, or under any contractual engagement at a healthcare institute under the Medical Education & Research Department, including post-PG contractual engagement.

- Through Treasury Challan under the Head of Account “0210-Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”, OR
- Online through the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) at https://assamegras.gov.in. The printed copy of the Treasury Challan generated through GRAS should be submitted at the time of scrutiny of documents, with the applied post mentioned in the Remarks column.
Fees are non-refundable, and no mode of deposit other than Treasury Challan (offline or via GRAS) will be accepted.
