All candidates must be Indian Citizens. The minimum educational requirement for ITI candidates is passing Class 10 (with Science and Mathematics) under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% marks, along with an NCVT or SCVT certificate in the relevant trade with minimum 50% marks, issued for a period of one year or more.

The selection of apprentices will be done through a formal interview conducted by a Selection Committee constituted as per the Guidelines for Engagement of Apprenticeship Training approved by the Board of Directors. The Selection Committee will evaluate candidates on the basis of their academic/technical qualifications, percentage of marks secured, and performance in the interview.
