RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Vacancy Details

A total of 371 posts of Assistant Prosecution Officer have been announced, distributed across two categories: Non-Scheduled Area (NON SA – 355 posts) and Scheduled Area (SA – 15 posts), with additional 1 post. These are further distributed among SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, and UR categories with horizontal reservation for Women (General, Widow/Divorcee) and Persons with Disabilities. The number of vacancies is provisional and may be revised as per actual requirement.

Special Note: Candidates of unreserved area may also apply against reserved area vacancies; however, residents of Scheduled Area applying for Scheduled Area posts must mandatorily fill their preference for Scheduled Area in the online application form. RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the date of eligibility (01-01-2027). Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply. Candidates must mandatorily complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the SSO Portal before applying.

Note on Qualification: The last date for acquiring educational qualification is the last date of application, i.e., 07-07-2026. Candidates appearing in the final year of Law degree at the time of application are NOT eligible. Qualification must be complete as on the application closing date.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Age Limit

Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years and below 40 years as on 01-01-2027. The maximum age of 40 years is for Unreserved (UR) and EWS male candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable as per Rajasthan Government guidelines.

Important Notes on Age Relaxation:
1. The above age relaxations (points 01 to 11) are Non-Cumulative. Only one relaxation – the highest applicable – will be granted. Multiple relaxations cannot be added together.
2. Special relaxation under point 12 (PwBD) shall be applied additionally after point 01-11 relaxations are considered.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay non-refundable Examination/Registration fees through online mode only. The One Time Registration (OTR) process is mandatory. Fee once paid will NOT be refunded under any circumstances.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Selection Process

Selection for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer will be based on (i) Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) and (ii) Main Examination (Written), followed by document verification and medical fitness. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall NOT be counted towards the final merit/selection. A Wait List may be maintained as per RPSC norms.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The Preliminary Examination is an objective type examination. In the preliminary examination, 70% weightage will be given to the Law paper (subjects prescribed in syllabus) and 30% weightage to test proficiency in Hindi and English language. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination shall NOT be counted towards the final selection.

Stage 2 – Main Examination (Written – Final Merit Basis)

• Minimum qualifying marks for each paper: 40% (relaxed by 5% for SC/ST candidates).
• The level of Paper II (Language) shall be that of Senior Secondary (Class XII).
• It shall be compulsory to appear in each and every paper of the written test.
• The Law paper is designed to test practical knowledge in criminal law, procedure, and framing of charges in criminal cases.
• Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates are entitled to minimum qualifying marks relaxation as per Rajasthan Civil Services rules and Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018 respectively.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Scribe / Scribe Facility for PwBD Candidates

Special provisions are available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities regarding scribe facility:

• Candidates with 40% or more disability having physical limitation to write are eligible for scribe facility. The scribe must be arranged by the candidate at their own cost before applying.
• PwBD candidates who wish to appear without a scribe must present a disability certificate and scribe-waiver certificate at least one day before the examination date.
• PwBD candidates who want the Commission/Centre Superintendent to arrange a scribe must present the required certificates at least two days before the examination.
• Section 2(s) of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016: Candidates with visual impairment (Blindness), locomotor disability (both arms), and cerebral palsy category candidates who wish to avail scribe must also present a medical fitness certificate from a competent medical officer/CMO as per Appendix-C from the RPSC website.
• Section 2(r) candidates (other PwBD categories) in which writing is not possible must produce a certificate of inability from the Chief Medical Officer / Medical Officer as per Appendix-D.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – How to Apply

Candidates shall apply online only; no other mode of application will be accepted. Before applying, candidates must complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the SSO portal and read the detailed guidelines and instructions for applicants available on the RPSC website.

Candidates should have a valid email ID and active mobile number which should be kept active till declaration of results.

Step-by-Step Application Process

1. Visit the official RPSC website: https://rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in and read the complete notification and Instructions for Applicants before applying.
2. Click on the Apply Online link or log in to the SSO portal at https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in using your SSO ID to access the Recruitment Portal (G2C portal).
3. If you are a new user, complete One Time Registration (OTR) by providing your name, father’s name (if available from Aadhaar), date of birth, gender, and Aadhaar card / Janaadhar card details. Upload a live self-photo and scan of OTR documents.
4. After completing OTR, log in from SSO portal → Citizen Apps (G2C) → Recruitment Portal and fill the online application form using your OTR number.
5. Important: No amendment to name, father’s name, date of birth, or gender can be made in OTR Profile once created without Aadhaar/Janaadhar correction. Ensure all Aadhaar/Janaadhar details are corrected before completing OTR.
6. During online application, a Live Photo will be captured via OTP camera. Submit the form only after verifying the live photo is clear.
7. Candidates must scan and upload thumb impression (left hand) and signature along with the online application.
8. Candidates who wish to avail scribe facility must mandatorily select the scribe option in their online application form.
9. All educational qualification and experience details as at the application closing date must be clearly entered in the OTR/application form.
10. After submission, an Application Number will be generated. If no Application Number is received, it means the form has not been submitted successfully.
11. Candidates must take a printout of the finally submitted application form for future reference.

Documents Required at the Time of Examination / Document Verification / Appointment

• Call Letter (Admit Card) downloaded from RPSC website along with valid Photo ID proof (Aadhaar / PAN Card / Passport / Driving License / Voter ID / Bank Passbook with photo) in original and self-attested photocopy.
• Caste Certificate in prescribed Government of India / Government of Rajasthan format (for SC/ST/OBC/MBC candidates).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate in prescribed format issued for the current year (for OBC NCL candidates).
• Income and Asset Certificate issued by Competent Authority in prescribed format (for EWS candidates).
• Disability Certificate in prescribed format issued by Competent Authority (for PwBD candidates).
• Educational qualification certificates and marksheets (graduation / Law degree onwards).
• Domicile certificate / Residence proof (for reserved category benefits applicable to Rajasthan domiciles).
• Character Certificate from the last attended educational institution (at least “Good” mention required).
• Police verification / antecedent certificate at the time of appointment.
• Medical fitness certificate from a competent authority at the time of appointment.
• NOC from current employer if already in Government / PSU service.
• EWS / widowhood / divorce proof documents as applicable (court decree / death certificate).

Printout of the Online Application Form is NOT to be sent to RPSC. No Hard Copy of the Call Letter will be sent by post. Candidates must appear for the test at their own expense; RPSC will not pay or reimburse any such expenses.

RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 – Important Instructions for Candidates

• Submitting false/incorrect information in the application form or failing to meet eligibility conditions is a punishable offence under Section 217 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS). Such candidates may be debarred from appearing in the examination or disqualified during counselling/selection/appointment.
• All revisions, corrigenda, and updates will be hosted on the RPSC official website only – candidates should visit regularly.
• Candidates must not change their registered mobile number or email ID. Changes, if necessary, should be informed to RPSC at the earliest.
• Candidates must apply under the correct category. Applying under a wrong category will not entitle them to any category benefit; the application may be treated as General category.
• Candidates from other states belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS will be treated as General (UR) for this recruitment as reservation benefits are applicable only to Rajasthan domiciles.
• OBC candidates from Rajasthan belonging to the Creamy Layer must apply as General (UR). Only Non-Creamy Layer OBC candidates with a valid and recent certificate are eligible for OBC reservation.
• Category once filled in the online application form cannot be changed after the application submission deadline.
• Not more than one application should be submitted. In case of multiple applications, only the last valid completed application will be retained.
• PwBD candidates with temporary/likely-to-improve disabilities are not eligible for PwBD reservation benefits.
• Candidates already in Central / State / PSU Government service must produce a NOC from their employer at the time of appointment, or an NOC obtained before joining.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• No request for change of examination centre shall be entertained. Travel expenses will not be reimbursed by RPSC.
• The Commission reserves the right to cancel the selection process partly or entirely at any stage.
• Legal jurisdiction for any dispute arising out of this recruitment shall be as per Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur / Jodhpur as applicable.
• Age relaxation provisions in Hindi language shall prevail over English translation in case of any discrepancy.
• Candidates who are provisionally selected will be given actual appointment only after document verification and medical fitness confirmation. Provisional admission to examination does not guarantee final appointment.
• Mobile phones, smartwatches, pagers, earphones, or any other electronic/communication devices are not allowed inside the examination premises.
