What are the Eligibility Criteria?

The recruitment notification includes vacancies for Medical Staff, Para Medical Staff and Non Medical Staff posts across multiple polyclinics. Candidates must fulfil the prescribed educational qualifications, experience and age criteria to be eligible for the respective positions.

Educational Qualification & Experience

Medical Staff:

• Medical Specialist: MD/MS in Speciality concerned/DNB with minimum 3 years post-graduation experience in the subject concerned.
• Radiologist: PG Degree in the concerned Speciality with minimum 3 years post-graduation experience. DMC Registration is must.
• Gynaecologist: MD/MS in Speciality concerned/DNB with minimum 3 years post-graduation experience.
• Medical Officer: MBBS with minimum 3 years experience after internship. Preferable additional qualification in Medicine/Surgery.
• Dental Officer: BDS with minimum 3 years work experience.

Para Medical Staff:

• Lab Assistant: Diploma in Medical Lab Technology (DMLT)/Class-I Lab Technician Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 5 years experience in Medical Laboratory.
• Lab Technician: BSc (Medical Lab Technician) or 10+2 with Science & DMLT/Class-I Lab Technician Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 3 years experience as Lab Assistant in Medical Laboratory.
• Pharmacist: B Pharmacy or 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 3 years experience as a Pharmacist.
• Nursing Assistant: GNM Diploma/Class-I NAC Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 5 years experience.
• Radiographer: Diploma/Class-I Radiographer Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 5 years experience.
• Physiotherapist: Diploma/Class-I Physiotherapy Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 5 years experience as a Physiotherapist.
• Dental Asst/Tech/Hygienist: Diploma in Dental Hygienist Course/Class-I DH/DORA Course (Armed Forces) with minimum 3 years experience as Dental Hygienist in recognized Dental Laboratory/Clinic/Hospital.

Non Medical Staff:

• Officer-in-Charge: Reserved for Retired Defence Officers with minimum 5 years experience in health care institution or managerial positions.
• Driver: Min passed Class-8th/Class-I Driver MT (Armed Forces), holding a valid civil driving license (LMV) with minimum 5 years experience as a driver.
• Female Attendant: Literate with minimum 5 years experience in civil/Army Health institutions.
• Safaiwala: Literate with minimum 5 years service.
• Chowkidar: Education Class 8th Std or GD Trade (Armed Forces).

Selection Process (Written Test, Practical Test & Interview)

The ECHS Chennai Polyclinics Selection Process 2026 consists of an objective type written test on the relevant subject and practical tests as applicable, followed by a personal interview. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated telephonically/through SMS/Email. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview. Selected candidates will undergo 10 days On Job Training (OJT) before signing the contract. OJT will be unpaid but mandatory.
