IBPS SO 2026 Selection Process – An Overview

Before diving into individual subjects, it helps to understand how the selection process is structured, since the weightage given to each stage directly affects how you should prioritize your preparation.

The IBPS SO recruitment for CRP SPL-XVI is conducted in three stages:

Stage Nature Weightage in Final Merit
Online Preliminary Examination Qualifying only Not counted in final merit
Online Main Examination Merit-based Counted (major share)
Common Interview Merit-based Counted (remaining share)

Only candidates who clear the Prelims cut-off move to Mains, and only Mains-qualified candidates are called for the interview. The final selection is based on combined Mains and Interview performance, with Mains carrying significantly greater weight than the interview.
